Expected Online Gambling Sites

While Maryland online gambling sites are still a good ways away the preparation and expectations are building up. Here are some of the online gambling operators we expect to put a bid in for one of the 60 mobile licenses that are up for grabs in the state:

  • BetMGM Maryland

BetMGM Maryland runs one of the state's only commercial casinos, the MGM National Harbor Casino, and are well-placed to launch regulated online gambling in Maryland.

  • BetRivers Maryland

BetRivers is an award-winning US gaming brand and was the first legal sportsbook to open in Illinois back in 2020. They should be near the front of the line for a BetRivers Maryland gambling site.

  • DraftKings Maryland

DraftKings has made no moves to launch its site in the Old Line State. However, with DFS also legal in Maryland, DraftKings MD will definitely be looking to offer its services to daily fantasy gamblers.

  • FanDuel Maryland

FanDuel is a popular DFS, and online sportsbook owned and operated by Flutter Entertainment. FanDuel has live gambling in other regulated states such as New Jersey. If DraftKings enters the MD market, expect a Maryland FanDuel app to follow.

  • TwinSpires Maryland

TwinSpires Maryland is up and running with land-based gambling and online casinos in several US states and is owned by Churchill Downs Inc, the operator behind the Ocean Downs Casino in Berlin, MD.

  • PointsBet Maryland

PointsBet Maryland was quick out of the blocks in 2021 by making a deal with Maryland’s only riverboat casino: The Riverboat on the Potomac. The riverboat is also one of Maryland’s only approved Off-Track Betting operators.

  • FOX Bet Maryland

Launched in 2019, making it a relative newcomer. Features plenty of local market odds boosts as well as promotions, including contests involving the network’s personalities. While not as widespread as rivals DraftKings and FanDuel, it is expanding into more markets and a FOX Bet MD site could be next.

  • Unibet Maryland

One of the largest and most respected online gambling operators in Europe, Unibet is among the industry leaders both in betting markets offered as well as live betting options. Recently expanded into nearby Virginia and can shoot for a Unibet MD.
